upset due to mounting debt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Transporters associated with the unorganized road transport sector, troubled by the reduction in ferries, high operating costs and shortage of goods, are either returning their trucks or selling them to the financiers.\u00a0On 31 August, after the moratorium on repayment of the loan installment ended, the truck operators are struggling with the problem of repaying their loan.<\/p>\n<p>Around 30,000 trucks have either been seized or returned by the financiers.&#8221;\u00a0Of these, 40 per cent have been purchased only in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>While small and light commercial vehicles used by e-commerce companies and the agriculture sector are making a rapid comeback, demand for medium and heavy commercial vehicles, especially those used for transportation, continues to decline.\u00a0The high capacity of these vehicles, low availability of goods and increase in input costs have made the viability of operators difficult.\u00a0He could not save much during the moratorium and is now unable to pay EMI.\u00a0Financiers have fallen behind these defaulters.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h1 style=\"text-align:
