The tensile strength Bamboo&#8217;s tensile strength is roughly 28,000 per square inch versus steel&#8217;s 23,000. Bamboo is stronger more than 6 times of steel reinforcement, on comparison, the energy needed to produce steel is almost 50 times that of this natural product.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17542 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/plyinsight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/bb.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"302\" height=\"304\" srcset=\"https:\/\/plyinsight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/bb.png 302w, https:\/\/plyinsight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/bb-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/plyinsight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/bb-298x300.png 298w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 302px) 100vw, 302px\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Developing countries have the highest demand for steel-reinforced concrete, but often do not have the means to produce the steel to meet that demand.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than put themselves at the mercy of a global MARKET dominated by developed countries, Singapore&#8217;s Future Cities Laboratory suggests an alternative to this manufactured rarity: bamboo.<\/p>\n<p>Abundant, sustainable, and extremely resilient, bamboo has potential in the future to become an ideal replacement in places where steel cannot easily be produced.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-17543 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/plyinsight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/ba.png\" alt=\"Bamboo is the Best Alternative to Steel Reinforcement\u2026\" width=\"524\" height=\"279\" srcset=\"https:\/\/plyinsight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/ba.png 653w, https:\/\/plyinsight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/ba-300x160.png 300w, https:\/\/plyinsight.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/ba-18x10.png 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 524px) 100vw, 524px\" \/><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>In trials of tensile strength, bamboo outperforms most other materials,\u00a0reinforcement steel included. It achieves this strength through its hollow, tubular structure, evolved over millennia to resist wind forces in its natural habitat. This lightweight structure also makes it easy to harvest and transport. <strong>Due to its incredibly rapid growth cycle and the variety of areas in which it is able to grow, bamboo is also extremely cheap.
