According to the new labor rules being prepared by the central government, companies will soon have to undergo annual free health check-up of all their employees above 40 years of age.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The draft regulations proposed by officials of the Ministry of Labor stated, “Companies must arrange an annual free health check-up for all employees 40 years old within 90 days of the start of the calendar year.\u201d<\/p>\n

This proposed rule will be part of the Occupational Safety, Health (OSH) and Working Conditions (Central) Rules, 2020 and will be applicable to all factories, mines and construction firms. The rule will soon be made public for feedback and comments.<\/p>\n

A senior Labor Ministry official said that the health check-up of the employees would be done by trained medical professionals and after the examination a medical certificate would also be issued. The move aims to increase the productivity of the workers but will increase the cost of the companies.<\/p>\n

Although there is a trend of medical insurance in industries.<\/p>\n
