employment, and reduce pollution and road hazards created by old vehicles\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Though this policy, the government is looking to incentive scrapping vehicles older than 15-20 years and replacing them with new ones, while discouraging the use of old vehicles.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>State govts to be advised to offer road tax rebate of up to 25% for personal vehicles and 15% for commercial vehicles<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Manufacturers to provide 5% discount on purchase of a new vehicle against the scrapping certificate<\/li>\n<li>Scrap value for the old vehicle given by the scrapping centre to be 4-6% of the ex-showroom price of a new vehicle<\/li>\n<li>Registration fees may be waived for the purchase of a new vehicle against the scrapping
