This is an attempt to innovate. To cooperate in each other’s progress. to make a team. New experiments. Trying to do something new. Long awaited dream to bring all three in a single platform. And the credit for this goes to Subhash Jolly president of Wood Technology Association. self-reliant India means taking each other’s hand and moving forward. Thinking of others before yourself. Can only make India completely self-reliant. A program was organized on behalf of WTA in Radaur in collaboration with progressive farmers, plywood manufactures, machine manufacturers as well as Dr. Ashok Kumar, Dr. Devendra Scientist of Forest Research Institute Dehradun.<\/p>\n

The main objective of the program was to make farmers aware about Milia Dubia. To consider other alternatives along with Poplar and Eucalyptus. Milia Dubia can be a better option in the present scenerio.<\/p>\n

Dr. Ashok Kumar, Senior Scientist of FRI Dehradun apprehended the farmers about Millia Dubia. He stressed that now the time has come, farmers will have to adopt Milia dubia in agro-forestry. Because this is the<\/p>\n

future crop. It will not only give growth to the plywood sector, by manufacturing high quality plywood. Which will get international recognition. He said that the cultivation of Millia Dubia can be done easily in Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas.<\/p>\n

Dr Ashok told that basically Safeda and Poplar have been imported from abroad, but Milia Dubia is our indigenous plant. This plant can grow well in local environment. Farmers can also earn a good profit from its plantation. He also cleared the doubts of the farmers on Milia Dubia.<\/p>\n

WTA President Subhash Jolly said that the purpose of this program is that farmers, plywood manufacturers, machine manufacturers and scientists should come on one platform. To understand what kind of wood the farmer can grow for the plywood manufacturers. Development of that wood plant by the scientists and give it to the farmers. Manufacturers buy wood from farmers. Because we are all dependent on each other. Together we have to promote plywood. In this, farmers, scientists, producers and the country everyone will benefit.<\/p>\n

Plywood manufactures Ashwini Kaushik, Shyam Sundar Agarwal, Bimal Chopra told that they are ready to buy Milia Dubia. They called upon the farmers to come forward for the cultivation of milia dubia.<\/p>\n

Sardar Amarjit Singh, Director, Guru Amar Industries said that this effort of WTA is highly commendable. It is too much appreciable. Because no one had thought in this direction till now. Such programs are desperately needed. This gives farmers a chance to have their say, plywood manufacturers can specify what kind of wood they want, FRI scientists can know what kind of plants to grow. Truly this program will prove to be a milestone for Plywood.<\/p>\n

Suresh Bahety editor of The Ply Insight, said that the program was certainly successful in its objective. He congratulated WTA, FRI, plywood manufacturers and farmers. He appreciated the FRI and said that the institute is continuously working towards developing good quality wood plants. Plywood will definitely get its benefit.<\/p>\n

Dr Devendra conducted the program. He urged the farmers who were present to take interest in planting Milia dubia saplings. He also assured that the institute is working day and night to provide good quality saplings to the farmers. In the program, 2000 seedlings of advanced variety of Millia Dubia were made available at 50% concession to the progressive farmers by FRI.<\/p>\n
