For the first time in the current financial year 2021-22, India is going to export goods worth $ 400 billion. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has already started preparing to take the export of goods to $ 500 in the coming financial year 2022-23.<\/p>\n

At present, more than 60 percent of the country’s exports are done from few states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh. Many states like Bihar have a negligible share in the country’s exports. With the increase in export of goods, there will be increase in manufacturing, which will increase employment.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has started the initiative to start exports from all districts through One District One Product (ODOP), but due to lack of adequate funds, this work has not progressed as expected. Many special products are found in many small towns, which have full scope for export, but this is not possible due to lack of facilities.<\/p>\n

The major measures for export promotion would be to reduce the cost of exports. Cost reduction can be done mainly by providing logistic facility. Exporters can be given some concession on the basis of export per container. Incentives can be given to farmers for cultivation in cluster form to increase exports of agricultural products. Other incentives for Remission of Duties and Taxes on Export Products (Road Tape) have already been announced.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Initiatives can also be taken by the government in the direction of maintaining the supply chain through e-commerce. Currently, exports can start from small towns or even rural areas due to the increase in exports through e-commerce to an extent. There is a need to further enhance the competitiveness of export linked manufacturing.<\/p>\n
