In the first quarter of the year, there has been a 71 percent increase in the sale of houses in the major 7 cities of the country. The launch of new homes also increased by 43 percent during this period. The new supply was dominated by houses priced between Rs 40-80 lakh. Despite the increase in supply, the number of unsold homes has declined. House prices increased by 2 to 5 percent.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the report released by Real estate consulting firm Anarock Property Consultants Pvt. 99,550 houses were sold in 7 major cities of the country in the first quarter (January-March) of the year 2022, which is 71 percent more than 58,290 houses sold in the same period last year.<\/p>\n<p>Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) sold the highest number of 29,130 \u200b\u200bhouses in terms of numbers. After this, 18,835 houses were sold in NCR. The highest growth in home sales in percentage terms was in Hyderabad at 199 per cent, followed by Kolkata with 124 per cent, NCR at 114 per cent, Chennai at 75 per cent, Bengaluru at 55 per cent, and Pune at 33 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>With the increase in home sales, the launch of new homes also increased. There were 89,150 new home launches in the first quarter of this year, which is 43 per cent higher than the 62,130 homes launched in the same period last year.<\/p>\n<p>According to the report, the impact of the third wave of Corona was much less on real estate than the previous two waves. Amid the pandemic, home buyers have pushed for home buying, given the certainty that home prices will move up, leading to a rapid increase in home sales in the first quarter of this year as well, with sales increasing by 71 per cent over the same period last year.
