JK Bihani, President, Haryana Plywood Manufacturers\u2019 Association<\/strong> submitted a memorandum to the DC of Yamunanagar, urging that it is not justified to file a case against the factory owners if the technical grade urea samples fail in the lab. Furthermore, a memorandum was submitted to the Home Minister Anil Vij<\/strong> on the behalf of the association requesting of intervention on the matter. Who had came to Radaur to hoist the flag on Independence Day.<\/span><\/p>\n

Former president of the association Ajay Maniktala, Vice President Satish Chaupal, Vishal Jha, Ramprakash, Satish Saini, Anil Garg, Ajay Garg, Kamal Gupta, Yashpal Madan, Naresh Kamboj, Vikrant Kamboj, and Jagir Singh, <\/strong>accompanied JK Bihani,<\/strong> while handing over of the memorandum. They said it would be hard to work under such a scenario. They added that arrangements should be made at the government and administrative level so that the plywood owners can buy technical grade urea from the right source. This may be the only solution to avoid such problems.<\/span><\/p>\n

The root cause should be investigated<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

According to members of the association, failure of technical grade urea samples is a matter of concern. But it should be investigated that where are its wires connected with? How is it possible that the samples of technical grade urea fail? There is either a problem with the sampling system or with the urea supply channel. It is a matter of administrative inquiry, and the problem cannot be solved without a proper investigation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Association members also suggested that the administration should mark certain selected stores where the factory owners can purchase technical grade urea. Such an arrangement can also fix the problem.<\/span><\/p>\n

How to identify technical grade urea?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Another major concern is the identification of urea. After all, urea is urea. What is the difference between agricultural and technical grade urea? Does it look different? Can you check it by testing? Many chemicals used in industry, such as formalin, phenol, etc., which can be testified in their own laboratory?<\/span><\/p>\n

Scientist Vaidyanathan said that the Indian government has added 2% neem mixture mandatorily in the agricultural area for its identification. Neem coating is perhaps the only criteria to distinguish between the both grades. The imported urea, which is UFC 85 coated, is also declared as agricultural urea in the lab which is aggravating the problem.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Sujata D, Scientist of Indian Plywood Industries and Training Institute said that the nitrogen content in both types of urea remains the same. The moisture content in technical grade is less than 0.5 percent, while it is up to 1% in the fertilizer grade area. Technical grade urea has a crystalline, glossy and dry appearance while the agricultural area is lusterless and round in shape.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Association President JK Bihani told the Home Minister that the owners take care of the major things that are supposed to be taken care of. For example, technical grade urea should be written on the sack and purchase is done with GST paid invoices. Ironically the FIR is filed against the factory owner if the sample fails. In Yamunanagar, 3 FIRs have been registered against the factory owners in the past few days because the sample of urea had failed in lab testing.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
