Plywood manufacturers of Ludhiana and Hambran (Punjab) met on 08 March 2023 at Sona grand.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was unanimously decided to increase the price by 8 percent, with immediate effect.<\/span><\/p>\n

After a broad discussion about the Raw material availablity and it’s high prices, which has touched a new high,in recent years,it was upheld that the situation is out of control at present and it should be Handled at utmost care and caution.<\/span><\/p>\n

To overcome the situation, it was decided tentatively, to keep two days shut down in a week by each and every unit, till the price of wood and firewood settle down.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Production curtailing is a very good and timely descision taken by the association”, said, Naresh Tewari, Chairman, All India Plywood Manufacturers Association. “It should be implemented in whole of North India for the betterment of the industry\u201d, he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

“However, we have seen a good plantation in last two years, in the North India, which may ease the timber scarcity in next 3 to 4 years. But the alarming capacity increase of MDF and Particle Board will also capture a major part of harvesting. That’s why, a special assurance for a hefty price assurance from the plywood industries sector will only put farmers to hold the timber for a long and required period”, said, Wazir Sood, President, Hambran Plywood Manufacturers Association.<\/span><\/p>\n
