The task is, however, challenging because of a higher base effect. In order to achieve the target of `20 lakh crore, average gross monthly GST collections will have to rise from `1.51 lakh crore in FY2023 to over `1.66 lakh crore in FY2024.<br \/>\n&#8220;It `20 lakh crore collection] is difficult, but not impossible as India is one of the fastest growing major economies. Besides, the government policies are focused on incentivising manufacturing through initiatives like the production-linked incentive scheme and major global economies are looking at India for friendshoring,&#8221; one official said.<br \/>\nFriendshoring refers to a business strategy of running supply chains through countries that are reliable allies to avoid any disruptions.<\/p>\n<p>Experts said the target is achievable, but much will depend on the magnitude of global headwinds and its impact on India.<br \/>\nAccording to experts the 12% growth target is realistic. \u201cThere was about 22% year-on-year growth in gross GST collections in FY2023. Factoring in the GDP growth forecast and inflation, a 12% annualized growth in gross GST collection in 2023-24 seems possible,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align:
