The United Nations report states that India has a higher population of youth in its total population.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">China argues that its demographic dividend is not yet over because it possesses a workforce with talented workers, which has fueled this debate further.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">According to the World Population Report 2023 by the United Nations Population Fund, 14% of China&#8217;s population is over the age of 65, while in India; only 7% of the population falls in this age group.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In China, 18% of the population belongs to the age group of 10 to 24 years, while in India; this age group constitutes 26% of the population. The report states that there is a population of approximately 254 million people in the age group of 15 to 24 years in India, which is why India has the largest population of youth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">China&#8217;s current fertility rate per woman is only 1.2, while in India, it is 2. If this situation persists, India will have a larger youth population compared to China in the coming years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">However, does the size of the youth population make India capable of reaping demographic benefits?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Experts do not unanimously agree and believe that the country has an opportunity to reclaim these benefits. They have warned that labor and land reforms, among other policy measures, need to be taken to harness this potential. Otherwise, the youth population could also pose challenges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The utilization of the demographic dividend depends on the capacity of the country. Whether the youth population is an advantage or a disadvantage depends on how we manage our economy. To achieve high economic development, better technology, higher savings, and investment rates should accompany the use of the youth population.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">However, India is in a better position than China because. The number of youths attending schools and colleges for quality education is higher in China. While size is important, the skills of the workforce also play a crucial role. According to projections, India will enjoy the demographic dividend until around 2040.<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/plyinsight.com\/hi\/placement-wanted\/\" target=\"_blank\"
