A HANDBOOK of PLYWOOD PRODUCTION, written by Dr. S. K. Nath, retired Joint Director of IPIRTI (now, IWST), is a concise, comprehensive, hands-on, simplified book on technology, processes, and practices in plywood manufacturing.

The book goes into details, in a  simplified manner, about the minute aspects of plywood manufacturing processes, and its impact on the finished product.

By virtue of their experience-based learning, factories are doing a near-perfect job. Yet, there remains a very minor gap between what we do in general and why it should have been done in a standardised, scientific manner. This book helps in realising the basic scientific reasons and purposes, for processes in Plywood manufacturing.

As the cover rightly suggests, ‘must read for Entrepreneurs Technocrats and Managers’, and also for anyone interested in knowing the nuances and practices in plywood manufacturing.

The book concludes with chapters on Time & Motion study as well as Calculations in plywood manufacturing, which are vital inputs in Production Planning and Control (PPC) .
