An Inspiring Transformation in India’s Furniture Industry

Over the past decade, India’s furniture industry has been transforming with a joyful shift. Traditional solid wood is giving way to modern, sustainable options like HDHMR, MDF, and Boilo. Homes are now furnished with sleek, modular, ready-to-install designs crafted using advanced tools and factory precision. This progress has brought convenience and style to millions, but it has also revealed a gap that needs urgent attention.

The Fading Legacy of Skilled Carpenters

As modern tools and mass production reshaped the industry, the skilled artisans who once defined carpentry began to fade away. Families with generations of woodworking expertise found themselves disconnected from the trade. Without structured training, clear job opportunities, or financial stability, many young artisans abandoned their craft, putting India’s rich carpentry heritage at risk. This loss was felt by the industry, prompting a call for a solution.

Action TESA Vision: Bridging the Gap

Determined to preserve this legacy, Action TESA, India’s leading wood panel brand, stepped forward with a bold plan. Renowned for revolutionising the market with innovative products like HDHMR and Boilo, the company turned its focus to the artisans—the skilled hands behind every piece of furniture. Through their heartfelt CSR initiative, “Super30,” Action TESA partnered with the MSME Technology Centre in Sitarganj to create India’s first industry-integrated skill development program for wood panel processing. This initiative aimed to empower budding carpenters and their families and align their skills with the industry’s modern needs.

The “Wood Panel Processing Technique (WPPT)”Academy: A Pathway to Success

After two years of careful research and planning, Action TESA launched the Wood Panel Processing Technique (WPPT)” Certificate Course. Guided by the uplifting motto “Hunar Badhao, Tarakki Paao” (Grow Your Skills, Find Success), this free, three-month program welcomed youth, many from artisan families, with a minimum 8th-grade education. The training was designed to prepare them for the future, covering:

A Day of Triumph: 100% Placement Success

On July 22, 2025, the MSME Technology Centre in Sitarganj buzzed with pride and joy as the first batch graduated. At a grand convocation ceremony, Action TESA and MSME awarded certificates to these newly skilled professionals. The celebration didn’t end there. A Mega Campus Placement Drive followed, attracting top furniture companies like Nilkamal, Impression Furniture, Dahiya Traders, and Woodflip Timber. Every single graduate secured a job, complete with competitive salaries, lodging support, and roles perfectly suited to their training.

Mr. Jitender Barde, Factory Head at Nilkamal, shared his delight:

“This program is a master stroke for the industry. We now have carpenters who are trained and ready to work with modern tools. It’s exactly what our industry needed.”

Mr. Arun Kumar, HR Head at Nilkamal, echoed this gratitude:

“Finding carpenters skilled in engineered wood was always a challenge. Thanks to Action TESA and MSME that struggle is over.”

Tools with Dignity: Empowering Lives

The graduates didn’t just walk away with job offers—they received professional-grade tool kits, a symbol of their independence and pride. These tool kits empowered them to start their careers with confidence, ready to craft furniture and build brighter futures. For these artisans, the “Super 30” program was more than a course—it was a launch pad to a meaningful career.

Upliftment of the carpenters is our topmost priority

Ajay Agarwal, MD of Action TESA, was overjoyed with the success of the SUPER 30 placement drive, a project close to his heart. “Our carpenters are the backbone of the wood industry, and we must lift them up. Two years ago, we planted the seeds for SUPER 30, and today, it’s so touching to see those seeds grow into strong trees, giving fruit as all 30 trainee carpenters find jobs through this campus drive. This not only brings skilled carpenters to our industry but also changes lives, supporting their families and strengthening our entire wood community.”

“SUPER 30”: A Model that will change the way carpenters are trained in INDIA

Action TESA “SUPER 30” initiative is more than a training program—it’s a blueprint for transforming lives across India. By blending skill development & giving opportunity to present their skill set/ candidature to top notch OEMs of India. It ensures artisans can thrive in a modern industry while preserving their craft’s legacy. From creating innovative wood panels to rebuilding the lives of those who shape them, Action TESA is leading the vision with commitment and passion.

With gratitude and pride, Action TESA truly lives up to its name: “KOI NAHI AISA”—there’s no one like them.
