  • During the journey of 14 years of WTA, we are trying to share the thoughts and problems of all industries, farmers, scientists, institutes and experts in one platform.
  • On May 20, Ashok Agarwal along with the IIA team will have a firsthand experience of the workshop and working style of FRI.
  • Teams from WTA and PLY insight will also be there to assist them.
  • To enable the industry as a whole to take advantage of FRI’s special contribution in the upliftment of trees, it will be the endeavor of all of us.

  • The effort by WTA and PLYinsight to form a consortium to bring WBI,Scientists and Farmers on one platform is commendable.
  • There is a need for scientists to increase industry based research and training programs
  • Research is going on at different stages at FRI on the suggestions received so far.

Dr. Ajay Thakur

  • With the efforts of WTA President Jolly ji, these webinars being conducted on Plyinsight are awaking everyone from sleep, bringing a change in the minds of the industry and the government.
  • In future, I will try to form a group recommended by FRI, in which farmers, industrialists will all be benefited.
  • We have to work unitedly to compete with China’s efficiency and hard work of China.
  • Earlier, our field and vision used to be very wide, due to which we could not address the exact requirements of the industry. Now from the continued discussions with the industry, a clear vision is emerging what the industry ultimately needs.
  • Our research runs on the feedback we get from the industry.
  • FRI was established in 1878 under the name of Imperial Research Institute. At the initial years all technical reports were distributed all over the world.

  • Tree improvement – Any tree is genetically improved, in which clonal propagation technology is also a method.
  • Maintenance of nursery and seedling is an important part of the entire process.
  • The plants of South India do not give optimum production in the climate of North India.
  • That’s why the selection of clone is very important.
  • Many of our clones are quite popular all over the country.
  • The amount of income earned by planting cheap saplings (in less area) in more quantity
  • There is equal income. Even when planting expensive plants (in the same area) in less quantity.
  • According to us scientists, fertilizers etc. should be used only in proper quantity. Otherwise, it is harmful rather benefitting.
  • Msc course is conducted for plywood production in FRI, in which the basics are cleared.
  • In agro-forestry, it is grown in one source and sold for production in another source, so there is no need for certification (problem) in it.
  • It is absolutely necessary to join the industrialists and farmers in the consortium.
  • The government opines that research institutes should work according to the needs of the industry and they should find source of income from the industry itself for the benefit of the industry.
  • Both the institute and the industry have to seriously work for each other.
  • The time and money that will be invested by anyone in the consortium will also be a part of the income from it in future.
  • Industry will also be responsible for carbon neutrality in future.

  • We should have done such serious efforts at least ten years back.
  • Imported popular from Belgium is still cheaper for several reasons.
  • Lots of improvement is required in our available clones.
  • We need more & more knowledge about melia dubia.
  • Proposed meeting with IIA delegation in FRI will open new spheres of association.

Sh. Deepak Agarwal

  • In Lakhimpur Kheri, 10000 saplings of Melia Dubia have been ordered.
  • We have also proposed to include the industry with the farmers in the monthly seminar organized by the District Officials.

Sh. Ashok Kumar Agarwal

  • Both the industrialist and the farmer are technically ignorant
  • Which variety are not receptive of worms – will be round – will grow quickly –
  • And finally where and how will this variety be available?
  • There should be a system to make this information available from the proper platform.

Dr. K P Dubey IFS

  • We have knowledge, research and technology, human resources and willingness, why the efforts for the consortium are not paying off? Perhaps a sustained connectivity is required.
  • We need to unite together
  • Can be taken advantage of the system about the layout of the consortium set up in Tamil Nadu.
  • We must take advantage of the meaningful and commendable efforts that WTA and Ply insight are making at this time to bring WBI on one platform.

Sh. Ashish Mishra

  • Perhaps in the 1990s, Paper and Pulp Industry would also be making similar efforts what we are discussing today. With continuous and commendable effort, hard work and dedication, Paper Industry is now at a satisfactory stage.
  • If you have long term vision, then it helps to be united.
  • There should be a data of work done in other stats so far in the clonal nursery, which should be the base knowledge for moving forward.
  • From the very beginning, the farmer and farmer’s organization should be taken along in the format of the consortium, so that our effort can be successful.

Sh. Vaidyanathan Hariharan

  • With lots of troubles and efforts. We are now at the starting point of farming consortium.
  • WTA has achieved the milestone keeping itself in the background.
  • It’s the joint efforts of WTA and PLYinsight that Industrialists Scientists and experts are sharing their views jointly in the Platform.
  • And more and more industry readers are joining into the area of arranging sustainable raw material.
  • Hope that farmers will equally involve in the consortium.

  • Some time back we had a conference in Yamunanagar in which we motivated the farmers and also distributed the saplings received from FRI.
  • In that conference, scientist Dr. Ashok, from FRI, addressed the farmers.
  • With the help of Jolly ji, today we are discussing on this platform how to increase agro-forestry which is worrying everyone.

Sh. Laxmikant Sharma

  • Growth of Industry is dependable on the availability of Raw material, which is decreasing.
  • If we do not organize it together with the farmer, then the future of the industry will be bleak.
  • WTA team believes that there should be synergy between Farmers, Scientists and Wood Based Industry to contribute in the interest of the country.

Dr. Dharmendra K. Daukia

  • Concluding all the webinars on Agro-forestry held so far, the initiative to form the consortium is being started from now.
  • With the cooperation of research institutes, it is necessary to develop nurseries for good quality seedlings.
  • Industry should formulate written instructions (MoUs) for in-principle engagement with research institutes
    We are all hopeful that some important achievements will definitely be achieved from the proposed FRI visit of IIA National President Shri Ashok Agarwal ji.
  • We hope that this will be a milestone in the development of the Consortium.
  • This is a necessity of industry, so it is our responsibility to go ahead and make it successful.

  • Industry has its own Problems but Can Be Conquered by Finding Solutions.
  • Our small contribution towards the development of our area can go a long way in creating a consortium.
  • We should upgrade and change our clone after an interval (like ten years)

  • WTA  के 14 सालों के सफर के दोरान में हम industries, farmers, Scientist, institute और Experts को साथ सभी के विचारो और समस्याओ को एक मंच में साझा करने का प्रयास कर रहें हैं
  • 20 मई को Ashok Agarwal जी IIA की टीम के साथ FRI में उनकी कार्यशाला और कार्यशैली का प्रत्यक्ष अनुभव करेंगे।
  • WTA और PLY insight की टीम भी उन्हें सहयोग करने के लिए वहां उपस्थित रहेंगी
  • वृक्षों के उत्थान में FRI के विशीष्ट योग दान का लाभ उद्योग समग्र रूप से उठा सके, हम सभी का यह प्रयास रहेगा।

  • WTA और PLY insight द्वारा WBI वैज्ञानिको और किसानों को एक मंच पर लाने के लिए consortium बनाने का प्रयास सराहनिय है।
  • वैज्ञानिको को उद्योग आधारित अनुसंधान और प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम बढ़ाने की आवश्यकता है
  • अभी तक के प्राप्त सुझावों पर FRI द्वारा अलग-अलग stage पर अनुसंधान चल रहे हैं।

Dr- Ajay Thakur:

  • WTA के President Jolly जी के प्रयासों से, Plyinsight पर किये जा रहे इन वेबीनार से, उद्योग और सरकार (Policy Maker) के मन में बदलाव लाते हुए, सभी को निद्रा से जगाने का सार्थक प्रयोग हो रहा है।
  • भविष्य में FRI द्वारा अनुशंसित एक ग्रूप बनाने की चेष्टा करूंगा, जिसमें किसान, उद्योगपति सभी लाभान्वित हो सकेंगे ।
  • हमें चीन की efficiency और मेहनत से मुकाबला करने के लिए एक जुट होकर काम करना ही पडेगा।
  • इससे पहले हमारा क्षेत्र और नजरिया काफी विस्तृत होता था, जिससे हम उद्योग को निचोड़ नहीं दे पाते थै। अब उद्योग के साथ हुई कई परिचर्चाओं से समझ आया कि उद्योग को अन्ततरू क्या चाहिए।
  • उद्योग में उत्पादन करते वक्त जो feedback मिलती है उसी पर हमारी research चलती है।
  • FRI की स्थापना 1878 में Imperial Research Institute के नाम से हुई थी। तब यहां से रिपोर्ट बनाकर पुरी दुनिया में बांटी जाती थी।
  • Tree improvement – किसी भी पेड़ को genetically सुधारा जाता है , जिसमें clonal Propagation Technology भी एक तरीका है।
  • Nursery और seedling का रख रखाव पुरी प्रक्रिया का अहम हिस्सा है।
  • दक्षिण भारत के पौध (clone) उत्तर भारत की जलवायु में समुचित उत्पादन नहीं दे पाते हैं
  • इसलिए clone का selection बहुत महत्वपूर्ण हैं।
  • हमारे कई clone पूरे देश में काफी प्रचलित हैं
  • सस्ती पौध (कम क्षेत्र फल में) अधिक मात्रा में लगाने पर भी जितनी आय होती है
  • महंगी पौध (उतने ही क्षेत्रफल में) कम मात्रा में लगाने पर भी बराबर आय होती हैं
  • हम वैज्ञानिकों के अनुसार, खाद वगैरह उचित मात्रा में ही इस्तेमाल होने चाहिएं। अन्यथा वो फायदे की जगह नुक्सान करते हैं।
  • FRI में प्लाइवुड प्रोडक्सन के लिए MSC कोर्स करवाया जाता है , जिसमें Basics – clear हो जाता है।
  • कृषि वाणिकी में एक स्त्रोत (source) में उगाया जाता है और दुसरे स्त्रोत में उत्पादन के लिए बिक जाता है, इसलिए उसमें certification की जरूरत (समस्या) है ही नहीं
  • Consortium में उद्योगपति और किसानों का जुड़ना नितान्त आवश्यक है
  • सरकार का मानना है कि अनुसंधान संस्थान उद्योग की जरूरत के हिसाब से काम करे और उद्योग के फायदे के लिए उद्योग से ही अपने लिए आय का स्त्रोत तलाश करें
  • संस्थान और उद्योग दोनों को ही गंभीरता से एक दूसरे के लिए काम करना होगा
  • Consortium में जो समय और धन लगाया जाएगा वह भविष्य में उससे होने वाली आय में भी हिस्सेदार होंगे
  • भविष्य में carbon neutrality पर उद्योग भी जिम्मेदार होंगे।

  • इतने गंभीर प्रयास आज से दस साल पहले किए जाने चाहिए थे
  • अब भी बेल्जीयम आयातित पोपलर कई वजह से सस्ता पड़ता है
  • हमारे यहां उपलब्ध वैरायटी में काफी सुधार की आवश्यकता है
  • हमें मेंलिया डूबिया के बारे में भी और अधिक जानकारी चाहिए।
  • हमारी प्रस्तावित FRI में IIA दल की मीटींग से भविष्य के लिए नये गठजोड़ के रास्ते खुलेंगे

  • लखिमपुर खीरी में मेलीया डूबीया के 10000 पौधे मंगवाए हैं
  • जिलाधिकारी द्वारा किसानों के साथ आयोजित मासिक गोष्ठी में उद्योग को भी सम्मिलित करने का हमने प्रस्ताव दिया है।

Sh. Ashok Kumar Agarwal (Tajpuria)

  • उद्योगपति और किसान दोनों ही तकनीकी रूप से अनजान है
  • किस वैरायटी में कीड़ा ना लगे- गोल होगा- जल्दी Grow करेगा –
  • फिर यह वैरायटी कहां और कैसे उपलब्ध होगी ?
  • इन जानकारी को उचित मंच से उपलब्ध करवाने की व्यवस्था होनी चाहिए

Dr. KP Dubey 

  • हमारे पास ज्ञान भी है, अनुसंधान और तकनीक भी है, मानव संसाधन और ईच्छा भी है, फिर भी consortium का प्रयास सिरे क्यों नहीं चढ़ रहा है? शायद एक sustained connectivity की आवश्यकता है।
  • हमें एक जुट होकर समन्वय की आवश्यकता है
  • तमिलनाडु में बने हुए consortium के रूप रेखा की जानकारी से लाभ लिया जा सकता है।
  • WTA और Ply insight इस वक्त WBIको एक मंच पर लाने का जो सार्थक और सराहनीय प्रयास कर रहें हैं, उसका हमें जरूर लाभ लेना चाहिए

  • आज जैसी परिस्थिति में हम विचार विमर्श कर रहें है, शायद 1990 के दशक में paper और Pulp Ind भी ऐसा ही कुछ प्रयास कर रहे होंगे।
  • निरन्तर और सराहनीय प्रयास मेहनत और dedication से पेपर इन्ड अब एक सन्तोष जनक मुकाम पर है।
  • Long term vision अगर हो तो एक जुट होने मे सहायता मिलती है
  • Clonal Nursery में अब तक किस राज्य में कितना काम हो चुका है इसका एक डाटा होना चाहिए जिसे आधार बना कर आगे बढ़ा जा सके ।
  • Consortium के प्रारूप में शुरूआत से ही किसान और किसानों की संस्था को साथ लेकर चलना चाहिए, ताकि हमारा यह प्रयास सफलीभूत हो सके।

Sh. Vaidyanathan Hariharan

  • WTA के काफी मेहनत और प्रयास से आज हम सभी consortium बनाने की पहली सीढ़ी चढ़ रहें है।
  • WTA और Ply insight के सम्मिलित प्रयास का नतीजा है कि आज, उद्योगपति और वैज्ञानिक एक मंच पर अपने विचार सांझा कर रहें हैं।
  • एवं sustainable raw material की प्राप्ति के लिए आज कई उद्योगपति आगे आ कर सहयोग और इच्छा दिखा रहें है।
  • आशा की जानी चाहिए कि किसान भी आगे आकर इस consortium में अपना योगदान देंगे।

  • कुछ समय पहले हमने यमुनानगर में भी सम्मेलन किया था जिसमें हमने किसानों को motivate किया और FRI से आए हुए पौधे भी वितरण किए थे।
  • उस सम्मेलन में  FRI से आए हुए वैज्ञानिक डॉ. अशोक ने किसानो को सम्बोधित किया था।
  • जौली जी कि मदद से हम आज इस platform पर चर्चा कर रहें है कि agro-forestry को कैसे बढ़ाया जाए जिस बारे में सभी चिंता कर रहें हैं।

  • Industry की growth कच्चे माल पर ही होगी जो लगातार कम होता जा रहा हैं।
  • अगर हम किसान के साथ मिलकर इसे organize नहीं करेंगे तो उद्योग का भविष्य अंधकारमय रहेगा।
  • WTA Team यह विश्वास करती है कि किसान, Scientist और Wood Based Industry के बीच तालमेल बना रहे। और देश हित में योगदान दिया जा सके।

Dr. Dharmendra Kumar Daukia

  • अभी तक हुए Agro-foresty पर सभी webinar को conclude करते हुए इस बार का विषय है जिसमें consortium बनाने की पहल की शुरूआत हो रही है।
  • अनुसंधान संस्थानो का सहयोग लेकर अच्छि क्वालिटी की पौध के लिए नर्सरीयों का विकास जरूरी है।
  • उद्योग को अनुसंधान संस्थानों से सैद्धांतिक रूप से जुड़ने के लिए लिखित अनुदेश पत्र (MoU) बनाने चाहिए
  • हम सभी आशावान है कि IIA के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष श्री अशोक अग्रवाल जी के प्रसावित FRI दौरे से निश्चीत ही कुछ महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धियां प्राप्त होंगी –
  • आशा करते हैं कि Consortium के विकास में यह मील का पत्थर होगा।
  • आवश्यकता उद्योग की है, इसलिए आगे बढ़कर इसे सफल बनाना भी हमारी जिम्मेदारी है

  • उद्योग की अपनी समस्याएं है लेकिन समाधान खोज कर जीत हासिल की जा सकती है
  • अपने क्षेत्र के विकास में हमारा थोड़ा सा भी योगदान, consortium बनाने में काफी सहायक सिद्ध हो सकता है।
  • हमें एक अन्तराल के बाद (जैसे दस साल के बाद) अपने clone को उन्नत करते हुए, बदल देना चाहिए
