HPMA propose for rate increase

JK Bihani, President, Haryana Plywood Manufacturers Association told Ply Insight that there has been sharp increase in raw material prices in last two months due to various reasons. Sea routes are very much disturbed post covid period resulting in freight rates  nearly doubled to pre covid period. Each and every component of raw material viz: Formaldehyde, Phenol, Face Veneer has upper ward trend. Industry is loosing almost 8-10 percent on daily basis, he said.

An executive meeting was held in yamunanagar to discuss the situation. After long discussion members present, were unanimously proposed for a 5 percent hike at present to compensate the expenses.

Majority of dealers welcomed the decision of price hike in phased manner and assured for co-operation to stabilize the market and manufacturers.
