Plywood Units Directed to Submit Urea Usage Details

In response to multiple complaints regarding the alleged misuse of subsidised agricultural-grade urea, the Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department has instructed 36 plywood manufacturing units to furnish detailed information about their urea procurement and utilisation practices.
The department has issued formal notices to these factories, seeking clarity on the purchase, consumption and application of technical-grade urea, which is typically used in resin manufacturing. According to officials, several units have already submitted the required information, while those that have not complied have been served final notices.
Information Sought from Units
The factories have been asked to provide:
- Total quantity of technical-grade urea purchased and consumed during the current financial year
- Copies of purchase bills and invoices
- Total ply-board production output for the same period
- The ratio or percentage of formaldehyde (formalin) used with technical-grade urea during resin manufacturing
