It is but natural that, as soon as QCO is implemented, the biggest benefit of this will be the farmers of the last three years, the prices of wood have surged more than doubled. engaged in the agroforestry in the country.

At present, there is agroforestry on about 18 thousand hectares in Yamunanagar, Haryana. This includes the crop of Safeda and Poplar. Similarly, agroforestry is being done on 15 thousand hectares in Ambala, 11 thousand in Kurukshetra, seven thousand in Karnal and 6 thousand hectares in Kaithal. To increase the area of ​​agroforestry, four lakh saplings are being distributed to the farmers every year by the Forest Department. Farmers are also continuously planting saplings regularly at their own expense.

Agricultural researcher Rohit Chauhan said that agroforestry is fully capable of raising the income of farmers. Every farmer should plant trees. Wood can play a big role in their income.

Rohit Chauhan said that there is always a demand for wood. With this, farmers can diversity of the crop cycle of wheat and rice. This will save groundwater. In this era of global warming, efforts are being made not only at the national but also international level to increase the green area.

Rohit Chauhan said that there is a need to connect agroforestry directly with the wood industry. the wood-based industry of the country should get wood regularly. If farmers keep getting a guaranteed price for wood, then it can prove to be a revolutionary step for agriculture, environment,  as well as wood industry.

Anuj Saini, president of Akriti, an organization working for the environment, said that QCO can achieve an additional goal by growing high quality wood by farmers. This is possible only when the country’s plywood and panel industry becomes strong. QCO is a step to strengthen the country’s wood industry. Therefore, QCO should be implemented in the wood industry as soon as possible.

Anuj Saini said that if the country’s wood industry becomes strong, then it will directly benefit the farmers indulged in agroforestry. Haryana and Punjab, where agroforestry is popular on a large scale, will directly benefit from it.

Pramod Chauhan, a farmer doing agroforestry, said that every possible effort should be made to strengthen the wood industry. Because only when the wood industry becomes strong, the demand for wood will increase. Only then we will get the right price for wood.

This will strengthen the economic condition of the farmer, There will be no pressure on the government for it. Such a system will be formed on its own, which can bring very pleasant results.
