Banks to open till 2pm

With infections crossing 300,000 a day. Banks have decided to shorten branch hours and cut staff attendance to 50 per cent. The decision was taken by the Indian banks Association in a meeting.

The four mandatory functions that will be provided by the banks are- accepting deposits, cash withdrawals, remittance and government businesses.

“Working hours (business hours) of the banks could be restricted to 10am-2pm. Door step banking activities should be encouraged,” the IBA letter to banks said.

The SOP said that the employees can be called on rotational basis or be allowed to work from home as the case may be depending on the nature of job. “ideally 50 per cent of the employees may be called for “in person” duty and on rotation basis,” it said. IBA has also urged employees to take vaccination for themselves as well as for family members.

कोविड संक्रमण के मामले रोजाना 3,00,000 के पार जाने के साथ ही बैंकों ने शाखा खोलने के घंटों में कमी लाने और कर्मचारियों की उपस्थिति को घटाकर 50 फीसदी करने का निर्णय लिया है। यह निर्णय एक बैठक में भारतीय बैंक संघ ने लिया।

बैंक चार अनिवार्य काम करेंगे जिसमें जमाएं स्वीकार करना नकदी निकासी, विप्रेषण और सरकारी काम शामिल है।

आईबीए ने बैंकों को लिखे पत्र में कहा, ‘बैंकों के काम के घंटों को सुबह 10 बजे से दोपहर 2 बजे तक सीमित किया जा सकता है। घर तक बैंकिंग गतिविधियों को प्रोत्साहित किया जाना चाहिए।

एसओपी में कहा गया है कि कर्मचारियों को एक चक्रीय आधार पर बुलाया जा सकता है या उन्हें घर से काम करने क अनुमति दी जा सकती है जो कार्य की प्रकृति पर निर्भर करता है। इसमें कहा गया है कि आदर्श रूप में 50 फीसदी कर्मचारियों को चक्रीय आधार पर काम पर बुलाया जा सकता है। आईबीए ने कर्मचारियों से अपना और अपने परिवार के सदस्यों का टीकाकरण कराने का भी अनुरोध किया है।
