A meeting of Yamuna Nagar Jagadhari densified plywood manufacturers was held on 1st Dec 2022 under the chairmanship of Sh. Devinder Chawla. It was informed that our chairman along with association members met Chief Sec Haryana to update him about the difficulties being faced by our industry and town. The Chief Sec facilitated our meeting with various deptt heads under the Add Chief Sec to CM to address the problems highlighted.
After discussion following decisions were taken:
1. For improved availability of raw material for our industry, it was directed by Add Chief Sec to CM that a seminar will be arranged with the help and guidance of Forest Deptt., Industry Deptt., Agriculture Deptt., FRI, Dehradun, IPRITI etc. to encourage farmers to grow more trees of poplar safeda & to make them aware about Milia Dubia timber. Industry will try to invite CM/ Ministers of Govt. of Haryana in this seminar and more and more farmers of our Distt will be invited for their participation.
2. It was proposed that industry on its own should contribute to encourage the farmers to grow more of Safeda Poplar timber by providing them with better quality of saplings & giving them the attraction of minimum purchase price at the time of maturity.
3. Plywood industry has paid about Rs 190 crores to the Govt as one time fees which is mandated to be spent for development of Forests & Agro Forestry. Subsidy from this corpus fund may be given to the industry for cultivation of Safeda Poplar.
4. The prices of timber are on the rise. The price of FF will be increased if the price rise doesn’t stop. In this period of crisis, it was proposed that the members should not sell their product at a loss just to run their factories, instead slowdown in production was recommended.
5. It was highlighted during the meeting that there are certain customers who are making delayed payments to our members. For this it was proposed that we should restrict supply to these customers and highlight their names in the meetings to safeguard other members from getting into the trap.
