It is the responsibility of the industry to meet the standards, if there is a problem, we will find a solution jointly

BIS North Zone Deputy Director General Snehlata said that it would be beneficial for industrialists to follow the quality standards set for wood Based industries at the Manak Manthan program in Kashipur. BIS will always co operate with the industrialists to solve the problem. Many amendments have been done in the standards earlier also on the demand of industrialists. If there is a need in the future also, BIS is ready for amendment.

Snehlata was speaking at the MANAK MANTHAN program of Bureau of Indian Standards on Standards on Wednesday, April 22 in collaboration with UK, UP Ply Association at Kumaon Garhwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

MP Ajay Bhatt the chief guest, mentioned the increasing interest of customers towards BIS certified goods. Along with many of his personal memories, he also praised the awareness of women in adoption of quality BIS certified products.

The program was presided over by Chamber President Ashok Bansal. He said that quality is paramount both for our production and marketing.

Sandeep Gupta, Secretary, UK Ply Association said that by upgrading  the quality of plywood industry, not only will quality products reach the customers, Rather, it will enhance our global competitive ability.

While BIS Director Saurabh Tiwari resolved the doubts of the industrialists, he also assured that he is always ready to solve their every problem. Through the BIS Care App, now consumers can check the authenticity of the products sitting at home.

He said that while the quality standards have ensured the responsibility of the industrialists to produce high quality products, a guideline has also been prepared for the department to ensure compliance with the standards in the industry.

He said that if someone manufactures and sells a fake product of his brand, a complaint should be raised about it on the appropriate platform along with BIS. So that appropriate legal action can be taken for it. He said that the standards have become mandatory and now the industrialists should prepare their products as per the standards.

Joint Director Sachin Chaudhary said addressing to the plywood manufacturers that manufacturing of fake products can be stopped, with the implementation of mandatory BIS.

Aditya Gupta gave a presentation on the problems faced by plywood manufacturers in a very systematic way on behalf of the association. Through his presentation, he presented the various problems of the industrialists to BIS. Which was addressed by Saurabh Tiwari on perspective of BIS.

Pradeep Shekhawat, Joint Director Civil Engineer gave information virtually about the amendments made in the standards. He said that amendments can be done in future as per the requirement, for this the industrialists should present their point in front of the department with test report evidence.

WTA President Gajendra Rajput and Secretary Manoj Gwari also submitted a memorandum regarding the standards.

On this occasion, UK UP Ply Association President Ramesh Middha, General Secretary Sandeep Gupta, and Hardeep and Kshitij Midda also expressed their views regarding the problems of the industrialists.

Almost every plywood manufacturers of Uttarakhand participated in the program. They said that such programs should be organized regularly. So that industrialists get a platform to express their views and concerns.
