Current situation in plywood
However, the plywood industry has slowed down in the last few years. Apart from the rising prices of wood, the slow integration of MDF and particle board in the market, which are made from juvenile wood, can also be held responsible for this.
In the coming days, plywood will regain its shine. There are many reasons for this. The fore most reason is that with the BIS standards becoming mandatory, Product & marketing of low quality plywood will be minimized.
The manufacturers who used to supply low quality material in the market in order to make plywood cheaper, are now bound to be obsolete. They neither wanted to establish themselves as a brand. Nor did they had a futuristic approach. They were motivated by the short term profits. This will create a trust in plywood among the consumers now. Which will create positivity in the market. It was very important to make quality standards mandatory. Its need was being felt in the industry for a long time.
Secondly, cheap plywood of low quality was also imported in the market from China and other countries. Consumers, who did not understand much about plywood, were lured by these cheap imported goods. This plywood used to have a very short life. That’s why people were losing faith in plywood.

The entire industry and consumers were suffering losses due to a few wrongdoing plywood manufacturers. With the implementation of BIS standards, they are going to abolish. Now every manufacturer will have to work according to the BIS standards. The buyer will have the guarantee that he is getting the product for which he is paying. Now misconceptions with the quality of the goods will be minimized.
The shortage of raw material is increasing, how can it be met?
The shortage of raw material is gradually reducing due to import of eucalyptus and pine wood. The imported Australian pine is as strong as poplar, it is also very smooth. Core is now imported to India in good quantity from countries like Tanzania, Uganda and Laos. There are two benefits of this.
Due to this, the pressure on agroforestry at the domestic level for raw material is reducing. Due to the balance in demand and demand and supply, the availability of raw material will also improve at the local level. A smooth routine will be formed in the coming days, regarding the availability of raw material.

Although there is not much difference in the cost. But due to this, the domestic pressure on raw material will be reduced to some extent.
Farmers are also paying interest in agroforestry due to reasonable rates. Due to which domestic production of wood is also increasing steadily. Efforts are being made by the industry to promote agroforestry individuality as well as by the association. The results of which will be visible in the coming days.
Hopefully, the shortage of raw material will be overcome to a large extent, now.
There is a decrease in demand for last few months?
Yes, the market was sluggish. Now the demand will increase. QCO has been implemented in furniture as well.
Now they will also need high quality ply. This is an opportunity for the manufacturers of high quality ply. They have got another big market.
Smart cities are developing. Demand for flats is also increasing. This is bringing new opportunities for the manufacturers. It can be said that now the hurdles in the manufacturing, quality and demand of plywood will be gradually reduced.

But the production capacity is not being fully utilized.
It will take some time. Everything will be fine then. As the demand will improve, production will also get it’s full capacity. Right now it will take some time to overcome the shortage of raw material. Industrialists are also facing the problem of payment. We are also thinking positively about this. Hopefully after a period, everything will be fine.
There are some industries in which every sale is done only after advance payment. This tradition does not exist in the plywood industry. Yamunanagar was especially ahead in selling goods on credit. But a change is inevitable in this too. The cost of running capital has increased tremendously. Almost every raw material is now purchased in cash. That’s why the producers are showing strictness. The good thing is that the distributors are also supporting the industry.
Everyone now wants high quality products. People are becoming aware. Experienced stalwarts, who are already in this industry have also taken initiative in this direction. They are guiding the industry with their experience and perceptions. The path for good quality products is becoming brighter.
How is the future?
Yamunanagar’s plywood industry will make its presence felt once again. Because Yamunanagar has patience, their financial condition is strong. Along with this, they have a long experience of maintaining the quality of their production high. They know how to take risks. They do not shy away from trying new experiments.
On this basis, we can say that the coming days are going to be very good for plywood, especially for Yamunanagar. We should assume that the difficult times is over.
