This year’s budget is quite disappointing for the industry. The relief expected for the business class, hurt by both the waves of covid has been disappointed by the Finance Minister. There is no immediate relief to recover from the slowdown, the plywood and panel industry is going through. Excise duty exemption which used to be available to MSMEs has ended with the introduction of GST and no effort is being made to provide relief from it.

Yes, the effect of the provision made for the environment and Agro forestry will definitely be seen in the future.

इस बार का बजट उद्योग के लिए काफी निराशा जनक है। कोविड़ की दोनों लहरों से आहत व्यापारी वर्ग को जिस राहत की उम्मीद थी उन्हें वित्तमंत्री ने निराश किया है। प्लाईवुड और पेनल उद्योग जिस मंदी के दौर से गुजर रहा है, उससे उबरने के लिए कोई तत्काल राहत नहीं दी गयी है। MSME को जो एक्साइज ड्यूटी में छूट मिला करती थी वह GST आने से खत्म हो गयी और उससे राहत प्रदान करने की कोई कोशिश नहीं हो रही है।

हां, पर्यावरण और Agro forestry के लिए हुए प्रावधान का असर भविष्य में देखने को जरूर मिलेगा।
