Addressing Concerns in Policies of Standards of Wooden Based Products

This is regarding the QCOs implementation in Wood-Based Boards, Plywood, Wooden Flush Door Shutters, and Resin-Treated Compressed Wood Laminates, which have come into effect from February 2025. We thank BIS for working with the industry and revising the standards upto current standards of raw material and industry practices.

Other than that there are few challenges that the MSMEs are experiencing in the policies, implementation of the Standards and product manuals. Addressing those concerns and modifying them will lead to a smooth transition and help the MSMEs in efficiently implementing the QCO norms. We request you to please go through the concerns listed in the table below along with the changes in policy required.

We request you to please consider the changes in the policies we are suggesting. We believe they will lead to easier compliance for the MSMEs and will help us in delivering high standard of material to the consumer in the long run. We appreciate your attention to these concerns and look forward to a positive response from you.
