Keep yours resources intact

It is a matter of pride to produce goods. But the uncertainty in availability of raw materials and unprecedented growth in production capacity in against the stagnation of the market are more than enough to increase the worries of industrialists.

Apart from this, vulnerable fluctuation in the global conditions (such as the recent sharp increase in sea freight rates), is also increasing the uncertainty in production costs.

There is a major confusion as to how much pace or utilisation of production capacity should be maintained. If production is reduced, the cost of production naturally increases. But if production is increased, is there as much customers available at those rates as much the cost decreases?

It seems as if we are in the post-nuclear era. That is to save our existence should be the main goal until this period passes. Saving our existence and avoiding the uncertainty of the current market is the most important thought point going on in everyone’s mind at this time. There is the need to keep yours resources intact and wait for the better opportune time. This will at least ensure that when there is a favourable situation, you will remain that much healthy to be competitive.

But won’t the MDF, PB, WPC will increase their market share further by showing their speed and aggression in this period? Especially when the ply and laminate industry is Unorganised and divided into camps and is entangled in its basic problems.

After the implementation of mandatory QCO, imports will be banned immediately, but uncertainty prevails on how the government (or BIS) will deal with those small domestic units which are not showing any interest in applying for the license. How much more grace period will be awarded to them? However, when all these units will be in BIS net, equal opportunities will be available to everyone.

Keep investing in skill and technical up gradation along with brand promotion, while saving your strength for a bright future.
