Finally, Diesel prices has been hiked in India by about rupee 22 per litre on 20th march 2026 but for Bulk buyers only, excluding state transport corporations.

Bulk customer’s account for 12 per cent of India’s Diesel sales, with the rest sold through retail out lets. Bulk consumers include the railways, defence, miners, manufacturers and construction companies including state transport corporations, which are excluded from the price like.

Executives said that the price hike will not affect the industry in general, as the rates on retails pumps are unchanged. However, rising fuel cost of large manufacturers may add to inflation, if it is passed on to consumers.
