REHAU is reinforcing its “Planet First” commitment by introducing next-generation sustainable materials designed for modern interiors that combine luxury, durability, and environmental responsibility. As sustainability becomes a priority in interior design—reflected by the growing use of eco-friendly materials by designers worldwide and the rapid expansion of the green building materials market—REHAU is focusing on solutions that balance aesthetics with environmental performance.

According to Mr. Tushar Verma, Executive Vice President, REHAU India and Subcon, the company’s vision of sustainable luxury integrates responsible innovation, recycled content, and circular economy principles to create materials that meet the expectations of architects, designers, and end users.

REHAU’s sustainability strategy is supported by initiatives like the REHAU ReTurn program, which allows production waste to be returned and recycled, contributing to a closed-loop system and reducing the need for virgin raw materials. Many REHAU products are manufactured with a high percentage of recycled content—some with up to 100% externally sourced recycled polymers—helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions while maintaining quality and performance.

To ensure transparency, the company provides Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) that offer independently verified life-cycle data on product impacts, helping designers make informed choices. REHAU products are also engineered for health and safety, with edgebands that are lead-free and DOP-free, preventing harmful emissions over time. Additionally, select roller shutter products made from recyclable polypropylene further support sustainable material use.

Through continuous research and development in areas such as bio-based composites, recycled polymers, and low-impact manufacturing, REHAU aims to expand its portfolio of green solutions. The company’s approach demonstrates that luxury interiors can be both aesthetically refined and environmentally responsible, meeting the growing demand for sustainable design in modern spaces.
