The Haryana Government has notified a new scheme under which Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will receive financial assistance to adopt cleaner and less-polluting technologies. Under the scheme, MSMEs can claim a reimbursement of 50 percent of the cost, up to a maximum of ₹20 lakh, for purchasing new diesel generator (DG) sets that comply with the emission standards of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
The first phase of the scheme will run for two years and will cover industrial areas in Gurugram, Faridabad, Jhajjar and Sonepat. In the second phase, the scheme will be expanded to the remaining NCR districts, while the third phase will cover non-NCR areas. Each phase will have a duration of two years.
In addition, MSMEs can receive financial assistance covering 50 percent of the cost, up to ₹5 lakh, for installing Retrofit Emission Control Devices in their existing DG sets. These incentives are part of the Haryana Clean Air Project for Sustainable Development (HCAPSD) 2025–31.
Apart from purchasing new CPCB-compliant DG sets, industrial units will also be encouraged to adopt cleaner fuel-based technologies for their existing generators or convert them to dual-fuel operation.
All DG sets and Retrofit Emission Control Systems supported under the scheme will be required to comply with CPCB emission standards and the directions issued by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM).
Up to ₹20 Lakh Assistance for Cleaner Industrial Boilers
The Haryana Government has also notified a separate financial assistance scheme for cleaner industrial boilers. Under this scheme, MSMEs will receive 50 percent of the cost, up to a maximum of ₹20 lakh, for purchasing the first 1,000 industrial boilers operating on Piped Natural Gas (PNG), Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), or other gaseous fuels.
For converting existing boilers to operate on PNG or CNG, units will receive financial assistance covering 50 percent of the conversion cost, up to a maximum of ₹10 lakh per unit.
Through these schemes, the Haryana Government aims to encourage the MSME sector to move towards cleaner fuels, greater energy efficiency and low-emission industrial technologies.
