Furniture giant IKEA reopens store in Hyderabad  


Swedish furniture giant Ikea has reopened its Hyderabad store and ecommerce sales from 8th June, after a closure of more than two months.

Ikea in India, which had started e-commerce operations from the last week of May following the government’s guidelines, has a physical presence in Hyderabad and sells products online in Mumbai, Pune and Hyderabad.

In a statement, the Swedish firm said it now offers all possible options for the customers to shop – retail store, Click & Collect service to book online and collect from the store, as well as regular online services for those who want to shop from the comfort of their homes.

However, keeping safety requirements and social distancing in mind, the global furniture retailer said its popular IKEA Restaurant and the children’s play area, Småland, will reopen later.

Ikea’s Hyderabad Store Manager, Aurelie Raimon, said, “We have put strong safety measures throughout the store, so that our customers and co-workers feel safe and confident coming back to the store.”
