Plywood Industrialists Upset by Rising Prices of Formal Dehyde, Demands for Rationalization of Prices

Plywood industrialists are deeply troubled by rising prices of formaldehyde. They say that the cost of production is increasing as the price of formaldehyde increases. this is not right. Therefore its rates should be rational. Because if it does not, then the plywood industry can be in a lot of trouble. In the current environment, the cost of making formaldehyde is approaching R14 per kg. In this case, the price of its sale can be justified from 15 to 16 rupees.

When The Ply Insight spoke to JK Bihani, the President of the Haryana Plywood Manufacturers Association, he said that this situation was not good for the industry over the ongoing dispute between plywood manufacturers and formal dehyde manufacturers. We all depend on each other. Therefore, work should be done while understanding each other’s problems. Because if the plywood factory have to shutdown, will the purchasers of formaldehyde not automatically reduce?

What is the reason for the price rise
Formaldehyde manufacturing plant in Yamunanagar is closed as per the order of the NGT. Due to this there is a spurt in prices due to the difference in demand and supply. But in response to this, it is being argued that the total capacity of the plants which are closed in Yamunanagar is 350 tons per day, but on the other hand, the production of formaldehyde plants in the country which were closed ealier or new plants have started, the production increased to 1000 tons. So there is no such difference between demand and supply. This is said by plywood industrialist.

Do the shortages shown are just to make a profit?
The people of the industry allege that something similar is happening. Formaldehyde manufacturers combined together to create artificial shortages in the market. So that it can charge more for the chemical.

What industrialists are looking for the solution for problem
For this, it was argued that if all plywood manufacturers buy formaldehyde only as per their requirement, then this can prevent the possibility of formaldehyde deficiency in the market. It was also decided that if its price is between 15 to R16, then buy only, if it is more, buy only as per the requirement.

But if an industry gets a chance to make a profit, why should it not take advantage of it?
See this is not true for general business. Because it is against the code of conduct of business. By the way, it is against the law. The biggest thing is that it should not happen.

But can the plywood industry can also be accused?
The Haryana Plywood Manufacturers Association has not tried to raise the rate in such a manner without necessity. Because it creates market volatility. Which is neither right according to the rules, nor can be considered right for the industry.

There may be possibility of increase demand.
Some plants were closed. Demand may have increased for some time, but now everything is back to normal. Now the difference between demand and supply being shown is being deliberately created.

We are troubled by the rising prices of formaldehyde. Industries have come under pressure due to purchases at such prices. So we had called for a meeting. Prices were considered in this. It was decided that if the price is charged more, then the members present in the meeting will not buy it. And will also urge other industrialists, all of them to be self-restrained. Because there is no other option other than this. We just want the price to be logical. It is not wrong in anyway to raise this awareness.

उद्योगपतियों की मांग, दाम तर्कसंगत तय होने चाहिए

फॉर्मल डिहाइड के बढ़ते दामों से प्लाइवुड उद्योगपति खासे परेशान है। इनका कहना है कि फॉर्मल डिहाइड की कीमत बढ़ने से उत्पादन लागत बढ़ रही है। यह सही नहीं है। इसलिए इसके रेट तर्कसंगत होने चाहिए। क्योंकि यदि ऐसा नहीं होता तो प्लाइवुड इंडस्ट्री खासी दिक्कत में आ सकती है। मौजूदा परिवेश में फॉर्मल डिहाइड को बनाने की कीमत रु 14 प्रति किलों के आस पास आ रही है। ऐसे में इसकी बिक्री की कीमत 15 से रु 16 तक जायज मानी जा सकती है।

प्लाइवुड निर्माता और फॉर्मल डिहाइड निर्माताओं के बची चल रहे विवाद को लेकर जब द प्लाई इनसाइट ने हरियाणा प्लाईवुड मेन्युफैक्चरर्स एसोसिएशन के प्रधान जेके बिहानी से बातचीत की तो उनका कहना था कि यह स्थिति उद्योग के लिए सही नहीं है। हम सभी एक दूसरे पर निर्भर है। इसलिए एक दूसरे की दिक्कतों को समझते हुए काम करना चाहिए। क्योंकि यदि प्लाइवुड फैक्टरी बंद हो जाती हैं तो फाॅर्मल डिहाइड के खरीदने वाले अपने आप कम नहीं हो जाएंगे ?

क्या वजह है दाम बढ़ने की
यमुनानगर में फॉर्मलडिहाइड बनाने वाले प्लांट एन जी टी के आदेशानुसार बंद है।इस वजह से मांग और आपूर्ति में अंतर होने की वजह से दाम में तेजी है। लेकिन इसके जवाब में यह तर्क दियाजा रहा है कि यमुनानगर में जो प्लांट बंद हुए हैं उनकी टोटल कैपेसिटी 350 टन प्रतिदिन है, लेकिन दूसरी ओर ,जो देश में बंद फॉर्मलडिहाइड प्लांट चले है या नए प्लांट शुरू हुए हैं उससे उत्पादन में 1000 टन की क्षमता की बढ़ोतरी हुई है। इसलिए डिमांड और सप्लाई में अंतर जैसी कोई बात नहीं है। ऐसा प्लाईवुड उद्योपगतियों का कहना है।

तो क्या जो कमी दिखायी जा रही है, वह सिर्फ मुनाफा कमाने के लिए हैं ?
इंडस्ट्री के लोगों का आरोप है कि ऐसा ही कुछ हो रहा है। फॉर्मलडिहाइड निर्माताओं ने आपस में मिलकरएक तरह से बाजार में आर्टिफिशियल शॉर्टेज बना दी। ताकि वह माल की ज्यादा कीमत वसूल सके।

तो समस्या का क्या समधान देख रहे उद्योगपति
इसके लिए तर्क दिया गया कि यदि सभी प्लाइवुड निर्माता अपनी जरुरत के मुताबिक ही फार्मलडिहाइड खरीदते हैं तो इससे जो बाजार में फॉर्मलडिहाइड की कमी की आशंकाएं बन रही है, इस पर रोक लग सकती है। यह भी तय किया गया कि इसकी कीमत यदि 15 से रु 16 के बीच हैं तो ही खरीदे, यदि ज्यादा है तो आवश्यकता अनुसार ही खरीदे ।

लेकिन यदि किसी इंडस्ट्री को मुनाफा कमाने का मौका मिले तो वह क्यों न इसका फायदा उठाए?
देखिए सामान्य व्यापार के लिए यह सही नहीं है। क्योंकि यह बिजनेस की आचार संहिता के विरुद्ध है। वैसे देखा जाए तो यह कानूनन भी गलत है। सबसे बड़ी बात तो यह है कि यह नहीं होना चाहिए।

लेकिन यह आरोप तो प्लाइवुड इंडस्ट्री पर भी लग सकता है?
हरियाणा प्लाइवुड मैनुफैक्चरर एसोसिएशन ने बिना आवश्यकता इस तरह से रेट बढ़ाने की कोशिश नहीं की है। क्योंकि इससे बाजार में अस्थिरता की स्थिति पैदा होती है। जो न तो नियमों के मुताबिक सही है, न उद्योग के लिए सही माना जा सकता।

ऐसा भी तो हो सकता है कि डिमांड बढ़ गयी हो
कुछ प्लांट बंद हुए थे। कुछ समय के लिए डिमांड बढ़ गयी है, लेकिन अब सब कुछ सामान्य हो गया है। अब जो मांग व सप्लाई में अंतर दिखाया जा रहा है, वह जानबूझ कर पैदा किया जा रहा है।

फॉर्मल डिहाइड की बढ़ती कीमतों की वजह से हम परेशान है। इतनी कीमतों पर खरीदारी करने से उद्योग दबाव में आ गए हैं। इसलिए मीटिंग की। इसमें कीमतों को लेकर विचार किया गया। जिससे यह तय किया गया कि यदि कीमत ज्यादा वसूली जाती है तो मीटिंग में उपस्थित सदस्य लोग इसे नहीं खरीदेंगे। और दूसरे उद्योगपतियों से भी आग्रह करेंगे,कि वह सभी स्वयं संयमित रहें। क्योंकि इसके अलावा कोई चारा नहीं रह गया। हम बस यह चाह रहे है कि रेट तर्क संगत रहे। यह मांग उठाना गलत भी नहीं है।
