Under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, more than seven crore saplings were planted in Rajasthan. Encouraged by the success of the campaign, the Rajasthan government has now decided to plant ten crore saplings under ‘Mission Hariyalo Rajasthan’.
This time, the Rajasthan government has paid full attention to increase greenery and agroforestry in its budget. For this, the Finance Minister has made a separate provision in the budget.
The provisions that are made in the Rajasthan budget will benefit the wood industry directly and indirectly.
According to Subhash Jolly of the Wood Technologist Association, and R.K. Sapra, IFS Retd, this policy is necessary because it has multi benefits.
- Greenery will have to be increased to reduce global warming.
- The wood industry will get raw material in quantities, regularly.
In this way, this initiative of the Rajasthan government is promising to solve every aspect.
Subhash Jolly said that the initiative taken by the Rajasthan government should be taken in other states of the country.
This year QCO has been implemented in the wood industry. Due to which the import of wood products will decrease. Obviously, now the wood industry of the country will have to produce products in sufficient quantity to meet the market requirement. Raw material will be required for this. Rajasthan has taken initiative in the budget to deal with such a situation.
Now, in the policy of Rajasthan, it will ensure a meaningful initiative in dealing with the challenges in the wood industry. This policy can also be implemented in other parts of the country.
