Now how the market will react after lockdown. What precautionary measures are to be taken? What are the challenges in near future? How to deal with the situation?

Ply Insight has started Talk to Industrialist Series. This time excerpts from conversation with Mr. Parmesh Batra. He is the MD of Batra Timbers Pvt. Ltd. Karnal; Distributor of Duroply and deals in all types of Plywood with specialization in Timber.

How will the market improve?
It will take time now. Because medical cases are on the rise. This is a state of fear. It will take some time to get out of this. There is an atmosphere of fear. Still hope that all will be well in near future. However, it is not the case that people are facing a lot of trouble from corona. But the problem is that much efforts are not done in dealing with it. People are in doubts about what will happen. Whereas it should have been that more efforts was to be made towards its treatment.

The confusion for the factory and the shopkeeper is whether to work or not and how much.
We are not able to know whether we will be able to go to work in the morning or not. Because , if someone in the neighborhood gets positive with corona, the surrounding houses are blocked. This leads to a situation of confusion. This is a major problem. Because if a man gets infected in the factory, the factory will be sealed. If anyone is found in the house, everything is sealed. Infection is increasing. In such a situation, we are all upset. A policy should be made for this. It is hurting everyone.

What to keep Future Prospective for the next three months?
Negative thinking never works. In any case we have to think positively. Survival is the main target at this juncture. Just we have to be careful, without stressing ourselves. Because if anyone is infected, there are so many problems. We all have to be safe by trying our utmost care. Customer is also confused and fearful. If any corona positive case is found in any area, customer naturally avoid to visit. Whole situation in the future depends upon the number of cases found positive. Safety of our LIFE is and should be our TOP PRIORITY.

How the market is responding?
Yes, the demand is good,we can say. It is true that the market is down, although demand for basic products is likely to remain. Right now there is shortage of workers. Therefore, there is no demand in such sectors, where plywood is required. Now if the construction sector opens, demand will be increased automatically . The real problem at this stage is shortage of workers.

The difference between the turnover of present and before March?
The problem is now that there is no regularity. There is uncertainty. However, there is not much difference in the March and May sales figure. Slow down has started in June. It is also correct to say that May was better in many aspects.

What to think next?
Infection may increase in the coming time. There can be an atmosphere of chaos, As is the situation in Delhi, a similar problem can also be seen here or everywhere. The doctors are also scared. They are not attending the general patients. This is creating a new problem in general.

लॉकडाउन के बाद अब बाजार कैसे काम करें।  क्या क्या सावधानी रखनी होगी। आने वाले वक्त में क्या चैलेंज होंगे। कैसे इस स्थिति से निपटा जाए। इसी को लेकर प्लाईइनसाइट ने टॉक टू इंडस्ट्रियल सीरिज शुरू की है। इस बार प्रमेश बत्रा से बातचीत के मुख्य अंश।

कैसे मार्केट में सुधार आएगा

क्योंकि केस बढ़ रहे हैं। इससे डर की स्थिति है। इससे निकलने में कुछ समय लगेगा। डर का माहौल है। फिर भी उम्मीद है कि आने वाले वक्त में सब ठीक होगा। हालांकि ऐसा नहीं है कि कोरोना से बहुत दिक्कत आ रही है। लेकिन समस्या यह है कि इससे निपटने की दिशा में ज्यादा प्रयास नहीं हो रहा है। लोगों में एक शंका है कि क्या होगा। पता नहीं कैसे करेंगे। जबकि होना यह चाहिए कि इसके इलाज की दिशा में ज्यादा प्रयास होना चाहिए।

फैक्टरी और दुकानदार के लिए समस्या यह है कि काम ,करें या न करें

हमें यहीं पता नहीं चल पा रहा है कि सुबह अपने काम पर जा भी पाएंगे या नहीं। क्योंकि कुछ पता ही नहीं चल पा रहा है। यदि पड़ोस में कोई कोरोना से बीमार मिल जाए तो आस पास के घरों को लॉक कर दिया जाता है। इससे होता यह है कि असमंजस की स्थिति बन जाती है। यह बहुत बड़ी दिक्कत है। क्योंकि यदि  फैक्टरी में एक आदमी संक्रमित मिल गया तो फैक्टरी सील हो जाएगी। घर में कोई मिल गया तो सब सील है। संक्रमण बढ़ रहा है। ऐसे में हम सब परेशान है। इसके लिए कोई नीति बननी चाहिए। यह तकलीफ दे रही है।

अगले तीन माह के लिए फ्यूचर प्रोसपेक्टिव क्या रखें

देखिए निगेटिव सोच कर भी काम नहीं चल सकता है। हर हाल में पॉजटिव ही सोचना होगा। यह वक्त ऐसा है जिसमें हमें सर्वाइव करना है। ज्यादा मारीमारी न करें,बस थोड़ा संभल कर चलना होगा। क्योंकि  एक बार कहीं कोई संक्रमित आ गया तो फिर कई सारी दिक्कत है। इस डर में कोशिश करके हम सभी को सुरक्षित रहना होगा । समस्या यह भी आ रही है कि कस्टमर भी डर के मारे नहीं आ रहे हैं। मसलन यदि कहीं भी कोरोना संक्रमित मिल जाए तो आस पास कस्टमर भी नहीं आते। ऐसे में जैसे संक्रमण और ज्यादा बढ़ता है तो लोग डरेंगे। मन में अपनी सुरक्षा को लेकर तो सवाल उठेंगे ही।

तो क्या डिमांड आ रही है

हां माल की डिमांड तो आ रही है। यह सही है कि अभी मार्केट में डाउन है,  बेसिक उत्पाद के हिसाब से डिमांड रहने की संभावना है। अभी क्योंकि लेबर नहीं आ रही है। इसलिए ऐसे सेक्टर में डिमांड नहीं आ रही है , जहां प्लाईवुड की डिमांड निकले। अभी निर्माण क्षेत्र खुल जाता है वहां डिमांड आएगी। असली दिक्कत यह आ रही है कि लेबर नहीं मिल रही है। यदि उन्हें लेबर मिल जाती है तो डिमांड बढ़ेगी।

मार्च से पहले  औरआज की स्थिति , यानी टर्नओवर में क्या अंतर आया

अब दिक्कत यह आ रही है कि नियमितता नहीं रही। अनिश्चितता है। हालांकि ज्यादा गैप नहीं आया है। मार्च और मई की सेल में ज्यादा अंतर नहीं आया। जून में स्लो डाउन आना शुरू हुआ है। यह कहना भी सही है कि मई में कुछ हालात अच्छे रहे हैं।

आगे के लिए क्या सोचा जाए

आने वाले समय में केस बढ़ सकते हैं। इसमें होगा यह कि अफरातफरी का माहौल हो सकता है। जैसे अभी दिल्ली के हालात है, इसी तरह की समस्या यहां भी आ सकती है। डाक्टर भी डरे हुए हैं। वह सामान्य दूसरी बीमारी के मरीजों को भी सही तरीके से अटैंड नहीं कर रहे हैं। इसलिए ज्यादा समस्या आ रही है।
