The decision to increase prices was taken due to the rise in prices of raw material. Rates of phenol, formalin, face and other goods have raised by 20%. There is also shortage of labour which has increased its’ manufacturing cost causing severe hit back to the plywood industry.
Mr. Naresh Tiwari, Chairman (AIPMA) suggested that all the plywood manufacturers should stop supplies to the plywood dealers who are not making or delay payments against the material purchased from the plywood industry.
PPMA has passed it to save the industries from bad debts and unnecessary delay in the payments. Mr. Ashok Juneja, Chairman (PPMA) and Mr. Inderjeet Singh Sohal, President (PPMA) said that infrastructural development and construction activities are growing day by day in the country and slump period is almost over. They said “A” class business is must for progress and that’s the need of the hour. No manufacturer should sell the materials without bill. E-way bill system on intra-state sales in Punjab is likely to be implemented very shortly as said. A minute silence was observed at the starting of the meeting in the memory of its founder Late Lalaji.
