In the current circumstances, it is essential to consider how progress can be made by working together where nobody be it, manufacturer, dealer or customer are effected at any level. What steps can be taken to address such any such issues. It has become a bit difficult for everyone to work in the current situation.

What difficulties do you feel?

We have to evaluate the market situation after COVID. Regarding sales and billing, a rational discussion should be held. We are trying to provide a platform for the wood industry, be it manufacturers, dealers, or anyone related to the wood industry.

What is the current situation regarding plywood rates?

Plywood rates may see an increase very soon. The chances are that laminates, PVC, and MDF will see a very moderate rates increase. The scarcity in the wood supply for plywood is expected to become severe in near future. If the quality of plywood is improved due to BIS provisions, production costs will increase. Most of the buyers are in the range of Rs. 100 for plywood. Still, it is expected that manufacturers can mutually agree upon increasing plywood rates.

Do the uncertain income of the middle class impact on the plywood business?

Certainly, the income of the middle class plays a significant role in plywood and panel demand. This category is in economic uncertainty. The spending trend is changing. Although it cannot be denied that the overall spending capacity is increasing. It would not be wrong to say that old economic formulas are not very effective in current circumstances. Nevertheless, there is hope that the future will be better and more favorable.
