AI agent will enhance the efficiency of employees

Within the next three years, the company will have as many Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents as it has employees, believes N. Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Speaking at the 31st Annual General Meeting (AGM), he also stated that the company will no longer recruit as heavily as it did in previous years.

He remarked, “If the company has five lakh employees, the day is not far when it will also have five lakh AI agents.” He added, “The question will be what these agents can achieve, and those tasks will be handled by the agents themselves. Company employees and AI agents will work together, and that is what the future holds.”

He indicated that new hires would decrease compared to past years due to AI-driven automation, even though the AI economy is creating new opportunities. This shift is already evident in the hiring patterns of both the company and the broader industry.

The scope of inducting AI agent in manufacturing sector, especially Plywood & Panel Industry must be searched.
