Farmers in Haryana’s Sirsa district have intercepted a truck loaded with 500 bags of urea, claiming that subsidized agricultural urea was being transported to another state under the label of “technical grade” urea. According to reports, officials of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) pursued a truck near the Bhavdin Toll Plaza area and eventually stopped it near Moriwala.

The farmers alleged that the urea had originated from a fertilizer unit located in Barwala, Panchkula district, and was being transported to Rajasthan under the designation of technical-grade urea.

Upon receiving information about the incident, District Agricultural Development Officer (DDA) arrived at the site with a departmental team. Officials inspected all the bags loaded in the truck and collected samples for laboratory testing. During the preliminary inspection, it was found that the bags were marked only as “Technical Grade”, while the manufacturing date and several other mandatory details were either missing or not clearly displayed.

Agriculture Department officials stated that, at first glance, the case appears to involve potential violations of regulatory provisions. Further action will depend on the findings of the laboratory analysis and the ongoing investigation.
